FAQ

Q: Are there any plans to add multiplayer?A: Multiplayer implementation only makes sense after realease on Steam. Current gameplay was designed for singleplayer, so adding coop also requires creating an entirely separate game mode.
Q: The game won't start on MacOSA: You need to execute this:
chmod -R +x [path_to_game_file]
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine [path_to_game_file]

Expert mode DOES need a overhaul, since all the resources deplete superfast, but the dev said they're gonna balance it, thankfully. Once you start out, you gotta IMMEDIATELY grab the extra fuel cans from the base. You do the first mission, upgrade your ship to hold more fuel, fuel it up.

Went to the fuel station, did the tasks there, but how do you get more ores? Didnt see any of the drills mining them. Not sure on that part.

The oxygen station seems to be somewhat bugged? I saved probably, halfway through doing the tasks, left for the day, came back, and now its just.. stuck on 18/36? Cant unlock the other rooms since, even if i plant and harvest and plant and harvest, its still stuck at 18/36.  Seem to be softlocked unless theres more stuff to do there, which im not sure about.

Yeah, I'll work on the balance.

Regarding the drills, there is a bug when they just disappear (it's going to be fixed). Other than that, you just need to manually start the drills and wait for them to mine some ores. You can also melt your items, if you really don't want to wait.

Other flowers produce more oxygen (green one produces the most), so planting them should help. I'll add a proper explanation for that and lower the requirements (at least for the normal difficulty)

Thanks for playing and sharing with your feedback!

Love this game so far. It takes my favorite aspects of Voices of the Void and puts it in a sci-fi setting, which I absolutely adore. However, I would like to report a few issues and bugs:

1. About halfway through the current available missions, my ship's temperature dropped to dangerously cold. I had to play the rest of the game with a spacesuit on until I got the final ship upgrade and gained access to the climate controller.

2. The oxygen depletes SO FAST. I turn on the oxygen controller, and all my (fully upgraded btw) oxygen tanks are empty within literal seconds and I suffocate.

3. The "Breathless" keeps spawning in the cockpit and killing me instantly :(

4. My heart rate is stuck at ~190 bpm so if I drink an energy drink I instantly die and I can't seem to get it to drop.

Overall, though, you've got a great game in the works right now, and I am so excited for future updates and more content! <3

(1 edit)

1. This is a bug and I already know the reason 😅

2. I assume you play on the expert difficulty. Regardless, this definitely needs some balance, I'll work on that.

3. Close the doors, use alarm or use the ship scanner to see where it is at the moment. I'll make a proper indication of its presense and movement. Also it cannot kill you if it doesn't see you, so you can just hide or move to another room. You'll need to wait until it becomes less aggressive or leaves the ship.

4. Heart rate means something "scary" happens, in your case it's definitely aggression of Breathless. I guess this needs more visual feedback to indicate that something is going on.

Huge thanks for playing and reporting these issues! I'll try to publish the next update with all the fixes as soon as possible.

Hey, thank you for playing and sharing with your feedback!

The economy does need some balancing, I'll definitely work on that. Make sure you don't have enabled afterburner to not waste more fuel, I'll make a proper indication of that for the next update.

You can put trash into a trash bin, get a trash bags this way, sell them and earn a lot of money. Or just sell space suits or any other useless items. Apparently, 20 trash bags is enough to buy max hull upgrades for your ship 😅

(+1)

Hey! Awesome game, I loved playing it, gameplay loop is really addictive, however there's 1 big annoyance I came across and that's with carrying items.

I can't carry multiple items at once (unless you can and idk how??) unless you use a crate and the crate, when you're walking, tend to drop it's items, so I was thinking maybe having a button on the side of the crates or a switch that when enabled, does a gravity field (or something) that locks the items in that crate. (If you thought of that before, awesome!!)

Anyways, that was my suggestion. Awesome game! Keep it up!!

(+2)

yeah the dev said that he is going to make some kind of inventory system. cant wait for the update

(2 edits) (+2)

You'll have backpack, belt (hotbar), furniture which can store items, and other items with inventory (like chip stand) in the next update. In the planned content udpdate, A LOT of other stuff is going to be implemented, so I think this problem is going to be solved for sure 😅
Thanks for playing and supporting the game! <3

(+1)

This game seems fun but Idk where the crash site is and the ship is barely moving maybe its stuck after undocking.

(2 edits)

Crash site is marked with blue marker on the map. I haven't heard of the barely moving ship problem, but I know decelration is a bit broken after undocking, you have to fully stop before continuing to fly in order to fix that. I have no other ideas. In any case, this problem is going to be fixed in the next update.

(1 edit) (+4)

Your game is good, and I can't wait to play the new update ) But I have a little idea: What about making the distance between stations and other things a lot bigger? Just imagine flying so far away that you can't see anything except the stars around you, and using only coordinates to reach your destination. It will make the feeling of loneliness and how small you are in this world a lot stronger. And also, maybe there some more info about the shuttle pilot before us?

(+4)

Honestly, I don't even know why I haven't thought of this yet. Increasing the distance between stations and making your ship a bit faster might actually work.  I'll consider doing that 🫡

Regarding the lore, it's going to be expanded in one of the future updates. For now, I need to establish gameplay and expand content a lot.

(+1)

ship randomly "LOCKED" in the following coordinates not letting me dock or undock and it wasn't near any structures X:1692.1 Y:-432.6

(+2)

This is a known bug wich was related to the disabled/invisible containers field structure. It's going to be fixed in the next update

(+1)

Cant wait for the new patch, hopefully old saves work with it, i assume it will, farming plants to get to 100k points. Tracking station and package mission soon! Would be nice if plant pots were purchasable in the shop, gonna fill my whole ship with them..

(1 edit) (+1)

bro i see you under EVERY space related game  : votv (you are one of the most active user on the reddit ) SULFURBORN ( YOU MAKED THE ONLY POST ON THE SUB ) and so many other games, why are you everywhere ?

(+1)

i just like space! :)

(+1)

The void has gotten way too close for comfort! Ran into a couple of silly physics bugs. Realized pretty quickly that this version doesn't have all the things I saw on Youtube, but the concept is pretty awesome. Can't wait for the new update that you've been working on, and maybe I'll finally be able to do that special delivery.. I think it'd be interesting to have the ship's shape, size, or some other defining characteristic internally change as you upgrade the ship to reflect the increased carrying capacity of fuel, oxygen, and greater electrical grid while also simultaneously increasing the complexity of repairs and troubleshooting.

(3 edits)

I like the idea! Found this game on youtube shorts and was exited to try space physics, but when started playing realised that somethings are probably still not released like I wanted to turn off space "friction" but couldnt find a button or a slide.  Also there is some inconsistancy with object's physics. Like on fuel station barrels are just flying away but cardboard and ore just go down like there is some an actual drag pulling them down.
Looking forward for new updates!
Also it would be cool to at first have the space gravitation also affect the ship's insides until you get an upgrade or something like that.

(+1)

I understand the frustration when you see the older version, but the new update is coming soon 😅
Tons of bugs are fixed there.

I don't want to change gravity on the ship during the regular playthough as it might be annoying to place all the items on their places again.

Thanks for playing and sharing with your thoughts!

(+2)

I don't know how to use the radio on Linux, and small objects like trash can be clipped out of the wall in the ship. Great game though, I love Voices of the Void

(+1)

Thanks!
I connected native Linux directory explorer for radio. Items clipping through walls are going to be fixed as well.

What do you mean by the directory explorer? Where do I put the files? And I also can't scroll through settings menu.

(1 edit)

I mean, this all is going to be fixed/featured in the next update.
As for the custom music Linux path, it's probably `/home/(your username)/.config/unity3d/CurePotion/Isolated Inhale/CustomMusic`

(3 edits) (+1)

Very promising game. Really like the videos. Unfortunately I can't play as my Macbook M4 Pro (yes) has its fans sounding like a boeing turbine 5 minutes in the game, even if the graphics are "simple".

I know this is mostly's Unity's fault with the Mac build for Metal. Please let us know if and when this will ever be fixed if possible. Tough ask because nobody cares about Mac, but I really wanna play ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'll see if can do anything about that after the update comes out. Thanks for letting me know!

(1 edit) (+1)

Thanks. How's development going, and are you open to collaboration? I'm a professional software engineer with C# and Unity experience. Would love to contribute.

creds w/ LinkedIn and contact: https://github.com/Dowsley

(+2)

Oh, wow, I'm very happy see such an experienced dev!
Regarding collaboration -  honestly, for now I just can't afford to work in a team 😅
But thanks for the offer anyway!
I hope one day this project becomes big enough so I can ask for your help.

(1 edit) (+2)

Just to clarify, I wasn't looking for paid work at all. I genuinely like the project, honestly one of the most exciting things I've seen in a while. I already spend most of my free time making games just for the love of building things, so contributing would be its own reward. So if you ever change your mind let me know.

Either way, best of luck with development

Also I can only leave things like bench or lockers with the crouch button

31:9 is broken, the ui for health, stamina and sometimes part of the objective text is hidden behind the helmet overlay.  (See first image)

But at this point broke 31:9 is the industry standard even for tripple A so i really cant blame you for not testing a 31:9 when AAA cant do it too

Also when moving around the ui breaks if movement shake is off (see second picture)

otherwise a good game!

Even running at 550fps at 5120x1440 it doesnt break or anything and it actually achieves those fps! (Which is insane for an indie title)

Also 21:9 seems to run completely fine even if i had to change the resolution in locallow b (it only had an option for 1080p in the settings)

Also another bug i found with your loading system when fov is too high in 21:9:

Huge thanks for sharing with these screenshots!

I'll work on that.

I recently was fixing 4:3 aspect ratio, now I see I need to go wider 😅

(1 edit)

Another bug i found is sometimes my food gets eaten out (without me interacting with it) of my supply closet and the fridge next to it

This is just unfinished food spoilage mechanic. I'll make the spoil timer much bigger for the next update

(1 edit) (+2)

Please make floating in space more realistic, whenever i want to go into space, i feel like im just using a fly command in a roblox game, and it doesnt feel like space.

(1 edit) (+1)

Someone suggested this a very long time ago, and I still didn't get to working on this 😅
But sooner or later I will

(+3)

woah this looks cool i havent played yet but i love voices of the void ill update this message after i play it

Is it normal that i got softlocked by the ghost shit ? (like it has locked the control like i was docking and i can't move and it's like every 15 sec turning off power oxygen and many other thing)

(1 edit)

It's going to be fixed in the next update. It wasn't intended to be that annoying.

The fact that there are no good games on Android devices makes me think about sui-

Well. I wouldn't like to have such disappointment earlier, but dreams don't come tru.e

(1 edit)

Ok dude this game is sick but i did notice one small issue. I think u can scroll while holding an object to make it closer/further right ? Issue is that it does it reallyyyyyyy slow like extremely slow even if i scroll like crazy. I’m currently using the Linux build btw

Additionally how toi pause/stop the radio from playing music

(+2)

Oh, I see. Sensitivity setting has an impact on scroll sensitivity as well. I'll just add another "scroll sensitivity" setting then.

Regarding the radio, for now you can just turn the volume down to 0 if you want to mute it. I need to add more radio functionality and keep it from becoming a calculator with too many buttons 😅

I'll work on that

(+1)

hell yeah thanks

regarding the radio, i feel like it could maybe use a rework in the future, it’ll prolly need some stuff like loop music and shuffle (and also automaticlly loop/play next song instead of having to manually trigger it). I feel like the best example i could give is the way ultrakill handles it. Obviously tho this is prolly not the priority rn lol

either way pretty good game, haven’t reached the end of this version yet but im having fun !!

(+1)

I just added everything =)
Now the radio will have these buttons: Pause/Play, Next/Prev, Volume Up/Down, Shuffle, Autoplay and Repeat.

(+1)

holy shit dude that was fast, that’s amazing tho good job, i’ll try it as soonas it’s available next release, thanks :D

Cool game, any plans for multiplayer?

(2 edits) (+1)

I'd like to add it eventually, but it only makes sense to work on it after release on Steam. Because otherwise I would need to rework everything for the Steam multiplayer API.

(+1)

cool

(-2)

There is a tonne of potential within this concept. But that's truly it, this program is only a concept at the moment. Considering it at 0.7.9 (Near release) is optimistic and a bit hilarious. I mean none of this to come off as rude. I just want to warn people not to expect a video game.

(1 edit) (+2)

I have clearly set my goals for the release version of this game: tell a full story of the pilot in an abandoned sector, create a solid gameplay loop with sandbox elements and reveal the horror potential of the built environment using events (both random and story related) and interactions with entities.

Yes, for now, I'm fully concentrated on developing the "width" of the game, meaning there isn't that much content at this point and there isn't a full story/ending/goal to all of this. It definitely feels the same for me - it is not a complete game for now, but I know where I'm going with this (at least I hope), so I'm going to work on it until I'm fully satisfied, regardless of how close the version number is to the 1.0.0.

hey, i saw you're trying to figure out how to deal with events not showing up if you speedrun / move too fast?
if the events are on a timer, maybe certain things could reduce that timer, such as finishing up tasks?

the reduction itself could be heavily randomized to make it harder to tell when an event will occur but still make the event closer

it might make the events more predictably timed once you know how they work but I think it could prevent people from blitzing through too fast to see any events

if they arent on a timer. oops

unrelated but i really really like the artstyle the game looks very nice

Hey, I think having certain actions to reduce incoming event timer could actually be a good solution, thanks for sharing this idea!

very cool game but has the scary part been added yet? i only got some light flickering and skulls in the boxes

(+1)

Scary part needs rework and balancing. I just don't want to spam with scary events, because it simply becomes not scary. And at the same time they need to happen more frequently, so even if you speerdrun the game, you still encounter them. That's the problem I'm dealing with and it will be fixed in the next update.

Very fun but could u make the map icons larger cuz i had to squint to see them also bug report if u go in the locker closet thing next to the door while crouching and close and open the door while docked at the home station u go through the floor

(2 edits)

Thanks for the report!
Also, there is a zoom ability (Z key by default). It's sometimes useful if it's hard to see stuff

(+1)

This is very interesting game, i found some cool secrets, don't give up brother, i love games like VotV. Ariral.

(+1)

This is what I have been looking for! Going straight to my top 5!

NOT EASY BUT VERY NICE GAME

NO
(+2)

This is such a fun game, even in this kind of early phase. Some mechanics feel a little clumsy, but it's something that will probably be fixed later on, so I can't wait for its release. Also, pls add an option to hold more than one item at a time, or an inventory feature, maybe, pls and thank u. It's still such a good game and I'll be def recommending it to some friends, since it so good

(+3)

Hey, huge thanks!
Holding multiple items at a time is a really interesting idea I honestly hadn't thought of, I'll definitely consider implementing this.
Inventory/Equipment system will be featured in the next update

(+1)

I think it would be a great qol feature. There's a few other things that I think would be very useful to add and might make the game more comfortable, but honestly you should only add what u want. I personally thing it being a little more uncomfortable its part of the charm, it's a very fun game! I'll be checking for any updates and I hope I can get some friends to join it and maybe even some streamer or something, it should be shared:)

Best game i have played

<3

(+1)

On a future update will we be able to fully rotate the spaceship in the three axis? (X Y Z)

(+4)

Such a feature is not planned

It could be more realistic and cool, but honestly I cannot see any gameplay reasons to implement this feature. Additionally it will cause a lot of pain for me, for example in case where the player exits the ship, saves the game, initiates docking or tries to move furniture outside/inside

But in any case, as with multiplayer. this is still possible, but definitely not for this state of the game 😅

(+3)

please add an inventory. moving items around one by one is the most annoying thing ever, especially with these physics

(+3)

Working on it. It won't be an inventory in the usual sense, but it still solves the items carrying problem
Thanks for the feedback!

(2 edits) (+6)(-3)

Cool game, just has a aggressive sound designer. said Sound designer attacks people in suggestions forum of the discord and is a general rude person.

(+1)

Also, how do I use the repairkit? The oxygen is broken, I hold the repairkit near it, the cover opens, I press E, but it still says "there is nothing to repair"

(+1)

Repair kit is used when the system is sparking/smoking.
Check the FAQ above. If it doesn't help, then it's probably a broken trigger area for the repair kit.

(+1)

Got any plans for a Steam release?

(1 edit) (+1)

Of course, it's just not ready for the release state yet

(+2)

I personally really like the game. This is actually the first game created in Unity that has a well-functioning and optimized Linux version, which is a shock to me.While playing, I was surprised that Unity could do that.I'm looking forward to future updates.

Possible issues:

-The folder and executable file names are named after the older version. To be precise, “0.7.8” instead of “0.7.9.”

"/Isolated Inhale 0.7.9/Isolated Inhale v0.7.8_Data",
"/Isolated Inhale 0.7.9/Isolated Inhale v0.7.8.x86_64"

When saving or loading a save file, “v0.7.8” is also displayed on the save files. But I hope this is just a visual mistake.

-I can't be sure, but the secret door does not open after entering the correct password. The lock does not play the sound indicating an incorrect password, the light turns green, and interaction with the lock is automatically interrupted, but the door does not open.

(+1)

Been searching for over 2 hours, cannot find the "case field" anywhere so far, certainly not at "-1708x -15y" as far as I can tell.

(+2)

I added FAQ table above.
My bad, I forgot to disable this task :(

(+1)

Please tell me about the hunger system. There is food in the game, but I don’t understand when to eat it, as I don’t see any indicators. And what does hunger affect? The game seemed wonderful to me, the atmosphere the game immerses you in is unmatched.

(+1)

The hunger system becomes a bit broken when your character gets too hungry. It affects your walking speed and makes your vision a bit darker. In general, all the buffs/debuffs are shown above the healthbar.

Thanks for supporting the game <3

(1 edit) (+1)
BUG REPORT:on a mission with a field of containers, when you pick up the correct container and enter the airlock with it, the container disappears after the door opens
(1 edit) (+1)

I'll add a FAQ section to the game's description. Thanks!

(+1)

Is Isolated Inhale coming to Steam?

(+1)

Eventually, but it still needs more work

(+1)

Hi CurePotion, I've played your game for quite a few hours now, and here are my impressions and what could be added:

1. After purchasing all the upgrades, the alien becomes very active, especially with the emergency button. Maybe you could reduce its activity (at least slightly, since it's annoying).

2. BUG REPORT (may be)!!!

The location of the field with containers does not match the coordinates on the tablet at all. Is this a bug or is it intentional so that we have trouble finding it?

3. What about adding a couple more alien events, like when you go into outer space from the ship, so that the alien could have a chance of appearing in the ship's window, or the same thing if you look out of the ship's windows at the rooms of the main hub, so that he could appear there too (that's probably a good idea, it would be cool if you added them :] )

4. This game is very good, reminiscent of Voice of the Void, but with a space theme. I hope that as the game develops, a Russian localization will be added in the future.

All the best from the Russian player of your game.❤️

(+1)

BUG REPORT: thet one sation thet doesnt have quest crashes the game

(2 edits) (+1)

Thanks for the report!

If you can, please send further bug reports in the "suggestions" channel on our Discord server (link in the game's description). This way you can give more details if needed

I'll configure bug reports on Itch in future (if it's possible), but for now it's much more convenient to store everything in Discord channel
