This game is awesome. Even without Russian localization (yes, hello from Russia) It's just a masterpiece. I've played VotV, and honestly, your game is very similar to it.
i had a bug (maybe) happen where: when i reloaded a save as I was about to depart on the "ecologist duty" mission my map and my position arrow suddenly stopped working. is this something thats suppose to happen and I can fix in game? or is it a bug?
I saw this game on YouTube and decided to play it, although I experienced a few troubles during the game.
In the beginning, I flew into space without taking any task and just aimlessly visited other locations where I could do something, but it didn't lead to anything, which eventually led to the idea that I was doing something wrong.
Then I figured out how to accept the task and started completing them one by one (the delivery task took me more than an hour before I read in the comments that it wasn't working).
The tasks ended quickly, but I didn't encounter anything frightening except the blinking of the light, poster replacements, system glitches. I went to explore the points of interest, but all three turned out to be empty, I still didn't understand what I spent my time on. Meanwhile, nothing frightening happened, and I had nothing else to do in the game.
Then I returned to the hub for the last time and found an UPGRADE STATION there. I just didn't know that this door was open and the game didn't seem to say anything about the possibility of making upgrades. As a result, I went through the whole game without any upgrades.
I bought everything at once and decided to make one last flight. When suddenly events began to rain down on me in huge numbers, something was constantly happening on the ship, although I saw the creature only once and did not understand if it was dangerous at all. After that, I reread one of the chips, and it looks like the creature's activity is affected by the number of upgrades.
In general, I went through the game completely wrong and ruined most of my good time. But I still like the potential of it. I would like to see events on locations, for example, the player could return to the distorted hub, but everything would work fine and the robot would not comment on it in any way. I liked the photosensitivity event, but it didn't apply to the flashlight and the purchased lamps. In general, I consider the lamps superfluous, they are very bright and with them you can forget about turning on the light at all.
The ship seemed too small to me and there just wasn't room to put anything there, but the huge windows didn't make it claustrophobic. If the ship had been bigger, darker, and had a storage compartment, it would have been much more unpleasant to move around it. It would also be interesting to encounter external ship failures that force the player to go into outer space. As an example of an event, the player could go out and find that all the stars have disappeared. Then the player repaired the damage in complete darkness and silence, and after returning everything became normal.
There is also a broken economy in the game. Gold can be safely farmed forever, a small garden with purple flowers right on the ship will make you a tycoon, purchased wipes can be turned into garbage and sold for more money than was spent. I propose to reduce the price of garbage from 250 to 50. But most importantly, there is nowhere to spend this money except for upgrades. The items offered in the store are useless, except for the lamps that are too bright.
I also couldn't figure out how the oxygen/fuel/energy cells work, and they ended up lying on the floor the whole game.
I will keep an eye on updates, and please let know when you disable something in the game. This more than an hour spent on a non-working delivery quest has really frayed my nerves.
To be honest, I was in such a hurry for this update, in result I messed up so many things. I agree with most of the described.
About the upgrades, I believe the game tells you have access to the upgrade room after completing the second task. That's entitely my problem, that some players miss this information, I'll work on that.
A lot of other stuff is still WIP, that's why I decided to make the next update relatively huge, just to try to make everything work as intended.
I really appreciate your feedback, it helps A LOT during the development of the next update!
Thanks for the feedback! The delivery mission is intentionally locked to not ruin sequence for your save file in the next update (it's planned to be relatively huge). I forgot to add message in the game to inform about that.
Thanks for letting me know about the mission being unavailable, I'll go try the others.
I really liked the game concept and the gameplay itself; it's nice and calm, yet interesting.
While flying, I noticed a lot of ships in the distance. It would be cool if they added some events involving them in future updates (just a suggestion that I think sounds pretty good)
This game has so much potential! The environment looks amazing, great game so far :D. About problems, once I got stuck in open space, the ship kind of locked up and I couldn’t undock or do anything, solved with a quick load, also, in Special Delivery I reached the coordinates but couldn’t find anything, is it a bug or still WIP? Can’t wait to see future updates!
The most fun I've had in this game is completely and utterly ransacking each and every destination for as many valuables as they could possibly supply, the only one I couldn't do that with is the first mission where you investigate the crash because I was running on low oxygen and fuel, which felt compelling but could get frustrating if you focus too hard on it. The upgrades are also interesting but if you play like me, you choose liquid gold as your second mission and steal so much that you can immediately buy every single upgrade in the game. With upgrades I suggest making less of them just increasing capacity and instead more varied, like you're tweaking or modifying the actual systems of your ship, and make some of them conflict with eachother. Speaking of the ship, the design of it seems to suggest the faction pre-fabricates the individual rooms and just welds them together to make a new ship, maybe it would be fun if there was a mechanic bay of some sort where you could purchase, swap out, and add new rooms to the ship, like a grow room for farming that also generates some extra oxygen.
Okay so, small review, just finished Liquid Gold and only have the Special Delivery left Second playthrough, first one on a previous version where i got stuck on Oxygen mission and I have to say, Not Much Has Happend. I understand this is still somewhat the tutorial-ish zone? on the first playthrough i had a couple of Flight Errors, two or so messages, and a bunch of systems broke and i had to fix, all that during only the first two tasks Second playthrough? Oxygen machine had an error and then i got Locked in the middle of nowhere, i turned the console off/on, tried docking/undocking, reset the systems so i just reloaded the save and nothing like that happened afterwards so im unsure if that was a bug or an event i messed up, other than that i got 1 message and one Life system error and I haven't seen the Threat pop up once! Speaking of the threat While your inspirations for this game are VotV and Iron Lung, i hate to say but the flight loop is more similar to Fnaf. Since there are no Threats outside, only Inside, what i essentially end up doing is set the course, full throttle, get out of the seat and watch the hallway with the Life Form Count in view and sit there untill the console pings that it's locked and ready to dock It uh, isn't much fun, worse, I'm stuck feeling tense waiting for a spooky scary Threat to pop up in my face, and can only relax when I dock, where i can re-start playing Viscera Cleanup Detail (I had two 4 boxes tall piles before i found my first crate and could finally sell them) I was orginally going to comment how VotV's biggest "thing" is that its 90% Calm Nothing and 10% Holy Shit & Hype Aura moments, but while writing I realized the bits while on a station & docked are the "Calm Nothing" part of this game, still, that ends up with like 30% Doing Calm Stuff on Station and 70% Waiting for my ship to travel to Point B while I watch the hallway for any Funny Business. While orginally it was fine, I did find the note about the Threat becoming more active after Liquid Gold mission, and I was waiting ready for it to jump out, but it didn't even appear on the Life Form Counter! To be honest, it did break once and after that it started flickering, but I just turned it off/on and it was fine both times with no Creatures on Board Anyhow, I'll be taking a break here and do the Special Delivery tomorrow, pretty good game so far!
Wow, I haven't seen such a review pinpointing actual game problems since the demo version. Thanks a lot for spending your time to describe what the gameplay fells like, this really helps me to see things as they are.
And to be honest, most of the described feels the same for me. For now I'm experimenting with balance a lot and change the sequences and I'm still unsatisfied. I believe there is a good balance point where there is not too much going on, but the game still remains fun to play. I just need to find that point.
Waiting to arrive somewhere is the main issue of the game. I asked about that on my Discord server and now kinda see where I need to go to fix that, but I'm still not 100% sure. In any case I'll continue with adding more content, just to give the player some room of interaction. I somehow need to make them busy for the spooky stuff to work. Or at least make the flights not boring.
Stations deffinitely will have some threats too, but I'm focused on differert part of the game for now.
The note related thing needs rework as it remains basically the same since the demo version.
The special delivery is now locked just to not ruin the sequence in further updates. I probably needed to completely disable this task but I was in hurry with that.
Again, thanks a lot for the review, I will try do everything I can to properly balance all the stuff and make it actually fun to play 😅
the game *is* decent fun! I was just a little high strung waiting for the spook only for nothing to happen for 5 minutes lol
Honestly for keeping the player busy during the flight, I don’t have many ideas, Iron Lung has you stuck to the seat navigating because you can’t see and you’re in tight underwater corridors which is the polar opposite of open space, maybe still you could add meteors that you have to dodge and keep a watching? Also, maybe a decent addition would be allowing the player to spin the pilot chair around lol, maybe some task minigames for the player to do while in flight could be decent too
Once you start, do the tutorial and then undock, fly to the shipwreck and eject the chip, head back to the station and obtain the mission chip. Then, fly back to the wreck and it will tell you to eject the chip, but you can't since you've already done it.
there is this italian big streamer named yotobi that tried the game and wants to play it more on monday! I suggest you keep up with the development 'cuz this can be big!
1. Defo a bug with "toggle grab" - you can right click an item and grab, right click again to drop. But if you right click elsewhere (not on an item) beforehand, a subsequent right click hovering over an item does nothing, you need another right click to grab again. I'm guessing its just a boolean being toggled but not checking if we're hover an item beforehand. A similar thing happens when throwing a toggled grab also.
2. I'm not sure but I THINK I'm softlocked at the elevator. I hit the button on the outside and the big box dropped without me in it. Not sure if I'm just doing something wrong though
I changed the payout mode from "direct" to "collected by Itch" as it turns out the direct commertial transactions for a personal account are blocked in Ukraine. This has to be verified and the payments should be working soon. Thanks a lot for informing me and trying to support the game =)
10 minutes in and i found out you can sell quest chips, except they don't get removed, infinite money glitch lol
i went to sleep at the solar station and now my screen is stuck on black :<
figured out the black screen (it was just a dream) but now im stuck on the ecologist station, i think you know about this one already, the objective didn't complete after i made an oxygen tank and all the plants are quite buggy, seeds struggle to detect soil and the harvested plant keeps clipping through the pot on my ship, i also have no idea where i can craft lol
Nvm, apparently i didnt actually produce a tank, there were just 3 stored in the dispenser
Also another who found off CinnyRoll, but couldn't get too far. After I undocked for the Solar quest I started turning my ship to line up but I guess the "dock area" for the Main Base is too big...except instead of docking I was stuck in an endless spin. Couldn't change direction, thrust, dock or undock. System said LOCKED as if I was at dock but I was some distance away and stuck.
Cute game, will keep eye for next update and try again
I just want to give a suggestion for the title to change it to Isolation Inhalation because of the alliteration, feels it flows better than Isolated Inhale. :)
So far I love the game, but i found that it would be a HUGE upgrade if the crate you can use to move multiple things in would have a lid or something to prevent everything from jittering out of it when stopping or starting to walk
1. Would like if there was a "hold" option beyond just the right-mouse "grab"...went to try to investigate the crashed ship and accidentally yeeted my form tablet into the void.
2. Opened cardboard boxes have a sell price but don't actually seem to be sellable like the rest of the trash and empty cereal/meatball boxes.
3. My ship was giving energy symbols on the screen as I was trying to fly, but when I tried to turn on the generator, it said oxygen was too high (at 19%) and temperature was too high (at 19C). Do I really have to put my character in danger in order to generate power?
1. Items carrying is a general problem, which I'll try to solve in the next update.
2. Everything should be sellable, except quest related items. However, it won't sell if it doesn't fit the sell area. I'll add some feedback for that and maybe will make the sell station a bit bigger.
3. Yes, just not to be able to have the generator always turned on. But this most likely is going to change.
I love how this game is coming along so far, but I'm having some trouble with finishing the oxygen farm and fuel mine tasks. When I use the dispensers to produce a canister, it doesn't recognize that the task was completed. Also, it's very difficult to plant the flowers. I'm still not sure what triggers the planting.
Actually the only scary game i've played in ages. I actually had a similar idea for a game, i was also inspired by iron lung and VoTV, but seeing this i am afraid my game would be considered a clone (if i ever actually make it).
I didn't read this page before playing, so I had no idea what the passcode was. I randomly tried "1-1-1 uh... 1" from TF2 Meet The Spy and it worked lol.
Very cool concept. I loved the ship system interactions.
My feedbacks from the experience:
The disconnect between the entity's position shown in the Life Care display and the randomized event positions. Such as the entity's position shown to be in the Fuel room, but the Climate Control gets turned off instead. It made it feel less like the entity is moving around doing stuff.
Also we don't get to understand what we're hiding from and why we are hiding, The HIDE text just appears randomly and we hear a breathing sound, but at no point I felt the need to hide myself, I just did what the text told me to do.
Decoded the message that you get in over and over in binary, It also has prompts about 'unlocking new content' or a message like that. Is this a secret? or just an easter egg? I did manually type it out from a grainy screenshot, so it might be wrong. I wont send the translation here in case it spoils something for someone. Really love the game though!
I agree that's a poorly implemented environment feedback from my side. Will work on that. Check left bottom of the screen, there you can see debuffs you currently have. It could be hunger, temperature or suffocation
Then i assume it's something related to the enemy's kill state. Not sure yet, needs to be playtested. Anyway thanks for reporting that, I'll try to find what could cause such a behaviour.
Am I missing anything? The interaction with items seem to be bugging and instead of interacting camera zooms to the objet. Other than that, I love the visual style of the game! Unfortunately I wasn't able to experience any of the scary elements yet
I really like where this is going so far! There was a really good atmosphere here that was pretty spooky and gave a mix of ss13 & votv vibes personally, some suggestions though:
- Decrease the frequency of random doors and events happening. I felt as if I heard some noise or something multiple times a minute, these little spooks somewhat lost their eeriness and surprise in my playthrough, and even as my cabin lights shut off I wouldn't bother getting up unless some critical system got shut off.
- Some bugs regarding movement speed during the 'hide' section & potentially the monster itself. Tied to fps? After the second life form got detected it stayed in the same module the entire time I had played, never moving. And during a segment that told me to hide I got up from my chair but before I could even reach a door my movement speed slowed all the way to a standstill and never recovered, even after. Stuck in place until my o2 was shutoff and I starved. Essentially a softlock :/
- Increase the speed of the ship, at least the turning, or add an option to hold shift to boost it. I felt like I was moving a fridge even at max thrust, maybe that was your intention, but it felt sluggish and tedious to play, especially when finessing the coords just right. Some side-to-side thrust would be cool too!
Overall though, outside my technical roadblock, I actually really liked this game and see a ton of potential in it. There's a great premise here, a captivating and scary atmosphere, some cool world building, and I just love the awesome non-diegetic physical interactions you have with buttons and levers and such. With further development this will be amazing! I'll definitely be keeping my eyes on the project!
Thanks so much for playing and giving suggestions!
I definitely need to reduce the frequency of events and make the enemy less passive. Because of his misbehavior, he does not pose a threat, which becomes boring.
Softlock is really unpleasant and most likely tied to FPS, this problem will be the first in line to be solved.
And to be honest, I don't have a final solution for the speed and maneuverability of the spacecraft yet for a number of reasons, but I already have some ideas about it that will completely change the need to constantly control it.
I really appreciate your feedback and agree that there is a lot of space for improvements. Your comment really helped me to see new potential problematic aspects of the game. Thanks again =)
your game looks really cool! 😊 I'm the leader of a small bundle community where we occasionally put together game bundles, and it's that time again!
Your game would be a perfect fit for our current collection, so I wanted to reach out and ask if you'd like to join us. If you're interested, you can submit your game directly here: https://itch.io/jam/urb2015. I'd truly appreciate it if you'd consider participating!

I wish you a good development!
this game is awesome. also, how can i change the walking keys?
You can't. I thought there is no need for that to be honest =)
I'll add these binds for the next update
Like your game so much. How do I turn the radio on tho?
You need to put your files inside the "CustomMusic" folder first.
You can see the detailed instuction on my Discord server in the FAQ channel. I'll make in-game instructions for this in the future.
This looks really promising. It reminds me a lot of SIGNALIS!
i had a bug (maybe) happen where: when i reloaded a save as I was about to depart on the "ecologist duty" mission my map and my position arrow suddenly stopped working. is this something thats suppose to happen and I can fix in game? or is it a bug?

эх жалко что нету русского языка...
Как же я обожаю такие игры. Удачи в разработке!
Are you planning to release this game on Steam or other platforms?
Yes, however I'm not sure about the other platforms besides Steam
My in-game experience:
1. Found two skulls and named them Zhorik and Tolik.
2. Went on a delivery mission.** Ended up spending like 10 minutes looking for that field with the boxes, got tired, and went back to the ship.
3. On the ship, I found an invisible little shit that was messing with the electricity meter. So I locked myself away from it.
4. Started to exorcise the little shit using a broom and some imaginary holy water. I kinda enjoyed it.
That's all for now.
I LOVE THIS GAME, EXCEPT THE MISSION WITH DELIVERY ._.
Thanks for the feedback!
The delivery mission is intentionally locked to not ruin sequence for your save file in the next update (it's planned to be relatively huge). I forgot to add message in the game to inform about that.

I'm aware of the lock problem, trying to solve that, and the Special Delivery is intentionaly blocked for now.

I was orginally going to comment how VotV's biggest "thing" is that its 90% Calm Nothing and 10% Holy Shit & Hype Aura moments, but while writing I realized the bits while on a station & docked are the "Calm Nothing" part of this game, still, that ends up with like 30% Doing Calm Stuff on Station and 70% Waiting for my ship to travel to Point B while I watch the hallway for any Funny Business. i found a way to softlock yourself.

Had fun with this. Couple of things I noticed:

Thank you for describing these in details!
1. You're correct. This just needs some more additional logic.
2. There should be buttons both at the bottom and at the top, for calling the elevator.
Hey there, found this growing sugar lump from Monika, is there any update log? Or is it still too early for change patches?
I post update logs on my Discord server
I just played this game, and while i've only done a mission I can already tell this is PEAK, looking forward to future updates
"To comply with international regulations, this transaction has been declined" whoa heads up; think something's wrong with your paypal.

figured out the black screen (it was just a dream) but now im stuck on the ecologist station, i think you know about this one already, the objective didn't complete after i made an oxygen tank and all the plants are quite buggy, seeds struggle to detect soil and the harvested plant keeps clipping through the pot on my ship, i also have no idea where i can craft lol
Nvm, apparently i didnt actually produce a tank, there were just 3 stored in the dispenser
Nvm 2, still doesnt finish
These are all fixed now
Also another who found off CinnyRoll, but couldn't get too far.
That's another event a lot of players struggle with for some reason =)
You just needed to check the message log, there you can find the solution. I'll deffinitely change this event (or remove it entirely)
Was not expecting "ariral" to work as a command, cute little easter egg <3
Saw a few devlogs a while back and was intrigued!
I just want to give a suggestion for the title to change it to Isolation Inhalation because of the alliteration, feels it flows better than Isolated Inhale. :)
Hi Hi~! 💙💛
I found this game through MonikaCinnyroll's stream and I'm so impressed with this game so far. :3
I already found 2 'secret' commands too, hehe. I'm glad you put them in there.
Can't wait for future updates! 💛💙
<3
So far I love the game, but i found that it would be a HUGE upgrade if the crate you can use to move multiple things in would have a lid or something to prevent everything from jittering out of it when stopping or starting to walk
Will work on that for the items/inventory update
Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts on that.
I went to sleep and now my screen is black
but otherwise its a good game
That's just a badly implemented transition from my side. You've got a dream and you need to turn around there. Anyways, thanks for the feedback!
So sleeping should have a dream but as of rn it's currently bugged
What are the downsides of not sleeping?
It doesn't always have a dream. And it's not bugged, it's just unclear what is happening when you get it.
The tasks are unfortunately softlocked and the seed packs have broken trigger or interaction logic (you need to just spam them in order to plant).
Will be working on that.
Thanks for the feedback!
Amazing, make the game work on mac, pls
ok, will do
Actually the only scary game i've played in ages. I actually had a similar idea for a game, i was also inspired by iron lung and VoTV, but seeing this i am afraid my game would be considered a clone (if i ever actually make it).
Your game is almost a masterpiece!
Also we don't get to understand what we're hiding from and why we are hiding, The HIDE text just appears randomly and we hear a breathing sound, but at no point I felt the need to hide myself, I just did what the text told me to do.
thats not actually where that came from it came from voices of the void voices of the void has the same passcode number 1111 lol
I think i found a bug
it's the first coordinates
edit: i found them, they're at the top
Haha, had the same issue, came here and thanks to you i didn't have to search any longer XD
Hi can you make a version for Android?
I could in theory but unfortunately, due to new Google Play terms and conditions, this no longer makes sense.
you could just add it to Itch.io
Decoded the message that you get in over and over in binary, It also has prompts about 'unlocking new content' or a message like that. Is this a secret? or just an easter egg? I did manually type it out from a grainy screenshot, so it might be wrong. I wont send the translation here in case it spoils something for someone. Really love the game though!
Raw code:
0100011 01101111 01100100 01100101 00111010 00100000 00111000 01001000 00110100 00110101 01000010
This is the part of much bigger thing, it can be used in the next updates.
Appreciate your curiosity =)
ooooh interesting!
There is a small mistake with the binary, the c for code ist 01100011 and its currently 0100011 which is an #, hope this helps =)
loved the video, i love the concept. pretty much no problems. great work dude!
I kinda dont understand how you survive. i was just flying and randomly i got "you died" :/
I agree that's a poorly implemented environment feedback from my side. Will work on that.
Check left bottom of the screen, there you can see debuffs you currently have. It could be hunger, temperature or suffocation
The thing is i did not have anything in left bottom. I was walking and then you died. 1 life form only. Nothing was. And just. Poof you died
Nevermind! Those turned out to be keypads that require entering code :D
OH!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH LMFAO
I thought I was just stuck.
Great work so far! :)
